Better Planet
London is increasingly focused on tackling causes of climate change and at this year’s Love London festival everyone’s talking about it. With seminars, workshops, films, exhibitions, campaigns and groundbreaking eco-cultural projects, the whole city is buzzing with ideas, activity and opinions.
World Environment Day on June 5th is a focal point for many of these events. Today, we all know the debate over climate change is no longer a scientific one – it is now about whether people can be persuaded that their small actions can make a difference. Love London promotes sustainability on a local level, encouraging Londoners to do their bit and make small changes in their day-to-day lives as part of a global effort, living our slogan Love London, Love Your Planet.
Christopher Harris, Director of the Love London festival said: “We all want to reduce our impact on the environment and even the simplest of measures can help achieve this. Using recycled paper is one of the easy ways to do this. Love London is proud to be collaborating with M-Real/Evolve, who supply our paper. Not only is the paper recycled but it is produced locally, in Kent, reducing our overall carbon footprint.”
Stephen Vail, M-real UK Sales Director added, “We collect more than 70% of our recovered waste paper from London and the South East so we have a strong connection to London. It’s great to be involved in an event that gets ordinary Londoners talking and thinking about how to green their lives.”
